    The Damned - Not Like Everybody Else

    Am 23. Januar 2026 wird das neue THE DAMNED Album „Not Like Everybody Else“ via earMusic erscheinen. Sänger Dave Vanian widmet das Album dem im März 2025 verstorbenen Gitarristen und Hauptkomponisten der frühen Alben, Brian James. Mit dabei sind neben dem langjährigen Bassist Paul Gray und Keyboarder Monty Oxymoron insbesondere die Gründungsmitglieder „Captain Sensible“ (Raymond Burns) an der Gitarre und Schlagzeuger Rat Scabies.

    Death Has Spoken - Elegy

    Eine relativ junge Band aus Polen in der Doom-Death-Metal-Szene. DEATH HAS SPOKEN wurden 2017 gegrundet. „Elegy“ ist ihr drittes Album. Eine Elegie wird verfasst, um den Verlust einer bestimmten Person zu betrauern. Dies entspricht perfekt dem Albumcover und Layout von Marcian Grygoruk. Das Album besteht aus acht Liedern, darunter ein Cover von AGALLOCH. Das Album ist voller Emotionen und eine Fortsetzung ihrer vorherigen Werke.
    „I’ve already lost the knowledge of myself between melancholy and death condition of shadow and doubt”, sind die Verse, die die Atmosphäre des Albums am besten beschreiben.

    Death SS - The Entity

    Die Horror-Metaller DEATH SS aus Pesaro in Italien existieren bereits seit 1977 und bringen 2025 ihr elftes Album auf den Markt. Gleich der sakrale Opener „Ave Adonai“ ist ein hypnotischer Gänsehautsong aus dem Bilderbuch. Der nachfolgende Track „Dustified Sinner“ ist da weitaus eingängiger angehaucht uud erinnert an ALICE COOPER. “Possession“ ist ein Up-Tempo-Knaller mit gespenstigen Keyboardsounds. Ebenfalls sehr eingängig. Die Kauzigkeit der Vergangenheit ist trotzdem irgendwie noch spürbar, schwebt sozusagen über allem.

    Jimi Jamison - 1998 Live Hits

    Wer auf AOR-Rock der Achtziger Jahre in Reinkultur steht, wird neben JOURNEY, BOSTON oder FOREIGNER keinesfalls an SURVIVOR vorbeikommen. Auch wenn der mainstreamlastige Pop zu dieser Zeit immer größeren Einfluss auf die Rockstrukturen hielt, brachte diese Dekade nun einmal die erfolgreichsten, massentauglichen Alben zutage. Und mit SURVIVOR ist auch einer der stimmgewaltigsten Sänger dieser Dekade, Jimi Jamison, der Dave Bickler ersetzte, unabdingbar verknüpft. Der charismatische Mann, der bereits 2014 viel zu früh im Alter von nur 63 Jahren starb, verfügte über ein gigantisches Stimmvolumen und sang vor seinem Einstieg zu SURVIVOR und damit verbundenen Platin-Auszeichnungen bei klassischen Hardrock-Bands wie COBRA und TARGET. Zudem lehnte er 1989 das Angebot ab, Nachfolger von Ian Gillan bei DEEP PURPLE zu werden.

    Knock Out Festival (13.12.2025, Karlsruhe)

    Auch in diesem Jahr hat das Knock Out Festival ein illustres Line-Up zu bieten, FREEDOM CALL, GRAVE DIGGER, THUNDERMOTHER, AXEL RUDI PELL, EISBRECHER und DIRKSCHNEIDER geben sich diesmal die Ehre. Erste Publikumsreaktion: Ausverkauft! Die Schlange am Eingang ist lang, dennoch füllt sich die altehrwürdige Schwarzwaldhalle bereits kurz nach 15 Uhr in rasantem Tempo. Und zu Festivalbeginn werden FREEDOM CALL bereits von vielen der erwarteten 4500 Fans lautstark begrüßt.

    Beasto Blanco + Dätcha Mandala + I Ya Toyah (18.11.2025, Frankfurt)

    Nachdem BEASTO BLANCO vor einem Jahr als Special Guest der DEAD DAISIES gewaltig abgeräumt hatten, stand für mich fest, dass ich sie unbedingt als Headliner erleben möchte. Im November 2025 spielten BEASTO BLANCO zum Abschluß ihrer Kinetica-Tour nun erneut in Frankfurt, diesmal im kleinen Club „Das Bett“. Neben der Vorfreude auf ein aufregendes Konzert stand also mal wieder eine mir unbekannte Frankfurter Konzert-Location auf der Tagesordnung. Also nichts wie hin in die Rockcity zum Clubtesten.
