    Knock Out Festival am 13.12.2025 in Karlsruhe

    Es wird laut im Dezember. Zum mittlerweile 16. Mal steigt traditionell kurz vor Weihnachten Deutschlands größtes Indoor Heavy Metal Festival in Karlsruhe. Zum Abschluss der The Hard Circle Festivalreihe wird am 13.12.2025 ein großartiges Line Up in der Schwarzwaldhalle erwartet. Neben den Top Acts DIRKSCHNEIDER und EISBRECHER sind AXEL RUDI PELL, THUNDERMOTHER und FREEDOM CALL bestätigt. Außerdem werden GRAVE DIGGER ihr 45 jähriges Jubiläum feiern.

    Rapture Of The Deep erstrahlt als Remix in neuem Glanz

    Im Zuge der Neuauflage zum 2005er "Rapture Of The Deep" Album wird besagtes Album gerne als "unterbewertet" oder "vergessen" beschrieben. Zumindest ich habe das Album damals sehr gerne gehört, was auch damit zusammenhängen mag, dass ich das zwei Jahre vorher erschienene "Bananas" Album der Band nicht nur wegen des Coverartworks und des Albumtitels als etwas seltsam empfunden habe. Wenn man sich allerdings anschaut, dass DEEP PURPLE in den letzten 12 Jahren nochmals einen ganzen Schwung an guten bis sehr guten Alben herausgebracht haben, dann wirkt "Rapture Of The Deep" rückblickend betrachtet dann doch so ein wenig wie eine vergessene Perle.

    Dinosaur Pile-Up - neue Single/ Video "Sick Of Being Down"

    Mit "Sick Of Being Down" geraten Dinosaur Pile-Up in einen posttraumatischen existenziellen Zusammenbruch. Aus dem Album I've Felt Better, welches am 22.08. über Mascot Records erscheint Die Alt-Rock-Helden Dinosaur Pile-Up veröffentlichen heute ihre neue Single „Sick Of Being Down“. Die Single stammt von ihrem ersten neuen Album seit sechs Jahren, „I've Felt Better“, das am 22. August bei Mascot Records erscheint.

    50 Jahre Iron Maiden: Offizieller Bildband "Infinite Dreams" zum großen Bandjubiläum erscheint am 7. Oktober im Prestel Verlag

    Einer legendären Band kann nicht oft genug ein würdiges Denkmal gesetzt werden. Im Fall von IRON MAIDEN sind es 2025, inmitten der unglaublich erfolgreich laufenden RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR, gleich mehrere – und eines davon verspricht bereits weit vor der Veröffentlichung ein absoluter Fan-Schatz zu werden: Der offizielle Bildband “Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams” (Anfang des Jahres von Thames & Hudson angekündigt), erscheint am 07. Oktober 2025 auf Deutsch im Münchner Prestel Verlag.

    Rage - A New World Rising

    Wenn man nur 600 Meter von SPV/Steamhammer entfernt wohnt und auf dem Promofoto zum neuen Album sofort erkennt, wo es aufgenommen wurde, und eine sehr nahestehende Person denkt, Peavy Wagner vom Balkon aus auf der Straße gesehen zu haben, dann spricht alles dafür, dass er es tatsächlich war. So passierte es einen Tag nach Wacken. Dass Peavy recht umtriebig ist, dürfte allgemein bekannt sein. Nachdem er mit "Soundchaser" am 06.12.2024 seine überaus lesenswerte Biografie veröffentlicht hatte, war klar, dass ein neues RAGE-Album nicht mehr allzu lange auf sich warten lassen würde. Dieses erschien dann auch am 26.09.

    Dirkschneider And The Old Gang - Babylon

    Es ist wie verhext. Irgendwie erwartet doch jeder, dass ein Album, an dem Udo Dirkschneider beteiligt ist, nach U.D.O. oder ACCEPT klingt. Dabei hat "The German Tank" eine einzigartige Stimme, die man unter Dutzenden anderer erkennt. 73 Jahre alt ist der Sänger mittlerweile, doch wie er mir in dem kürzlich mit ihm geführten Interview mitteilte, hat er noch lange nicht vor, in Rente zu gehen. Dafür ist der Wuppertaler auch viel zu beschäftigt – nach U.D.O. und DIRKSCHNEIDER hat er mit DIRKSCHNEIDER AND THE OLD GANG (kurz DATOG) inzwischen die dritte Band am Start. Man kann sich schon fragen, wann der Mann eigentlich schläft?

    Burning Witches - Inquisition

    Unglaubliche fünf Jahrhunderte wütete die heilige Inquisition und kostete währenddessen schätzungsweise 40.000 bis 60.000 Menschen in ganz Europa das Leben. Circa 80 %, also zwischen 32.000 und 48.000, der Opfer waren Frauen. Man denkt oft fälschlicherweise, dass die Inquisition nur in Großstädten stattfand. Doch dem war nicht so. Mit der 1660 hingerichteten Gesche Köllers stammte zum Beispiel eines der Opfer aus dem mit dem Zug nur 26 Minuten von Hannover entfernten Loccum. Wie schlägt man nun die Brücke zwischen dieser grausigen Vergangenheit und dem neuen Album der BURNING WITCHES? 

    Your Heaven, My Hell: Wie Heavy Metal mich gerettet hat (Mille Petrozza)

    Der charismatische KREATOR Frontmann Mille Petrozza hat sich zusammen mit Torsten Gross zusammengefunden, um über sein Leben zu schreiben. In “Your Heaven, My Hell - Wie Heavy Metal mich gerettet hat” geht es dabei in erster Linie um Milles Leben und die Frühphase von KREATOR. Wobei “Frühphase” etwas falsch formuliert ist, im Grunde reicht das Buch bis in die 90er Jahre zum Album “Coma Of Souls” und etwas darüber hinaus.

    Left To Die + Guttural Disorge + Blood Bringer (26.09.2025, Saarbrücken)

    Platzhalter smallEigentlich ist es schade, dass eine mehr als würdige Tribute-Band für die Gründerväter des Death Metal nur noch im Kleinen Klub in Saarbrücken gastiert. Dieser war zwar ausverkauft, aber dennoch hätte man sich einen etwas geräumigeren Ehrenplatz erhofft. Aber am Wichtigsten war es natürlich, dass LEFT TO DIE überhaupt bei uns spielt.

    Faun + Ye Banished Privateers + Pettersson & Fredriksson (04.10.2025, Neunkirchen/Saar)

    FAUN mochte ich immer ganze gerne, auch wenn ich mich jetzt nicht als super Fan bezeichnen würde. In den letzten Jahren habe ich sie aus unerfindlichen Gründen etwas aus den Augen verloren, daher wollte ich sie nun unbedingt sehen, wenn sie schon so nah auftreten. Pflichtbewusst habe ich mir auch gleich das neue Album gekauft, damit wir an dem „aus den Augen verlieren“ arbeiten können. FAUN sind eine Band, zu deren Musik man sich wegträumen kann, aber sie ist auch sehr tanzbar. Entsprechend doof gucke ich aus der Wäsche, als ich in die Neue Gebläsehalle komme und den Saal bestuhlt vorfinde. Was soll das denn? Ich bin so verwirrt, dass ich erst mal nicht kapiere, dass die Stühle auch noch markiert sind und es keine freie Platzwahl gibt. Nun gut.
